Two Interesting Things about The Learning Strategies Handbook

The Learning Strategies Handbook, written by Anna Uhl Chamot and friends in 1999, has two interesting reasons why this book should be read by all teachers around the world. First of all, the contents of this book are really inspiring. It is because this book explains all the important learning strategies that should be applied by the teachers to create a rich, rewarding learning environment where their students learn to be independent, lifelong learners. Therefore, each teacher who reads this book will be inspired and tried to apply the strategies that are given here in their classroom. For instance, this book tells the strategies of how the effective ways in helping the students to learn about a material, and also this book also tells about CALLA (The Cognitive Language Learning Approach) strategies step by step, so it is easily for the teacher to learn it. The second reason is the language which is used in this book is totally communicative. It is because this book explains the strategies to the readers in a communicative way. It means that this book explains the content of the book by using the language which makes the readers easily to understand what the book really means. Therefore, in reading or comprehending the book, the readers will not have any question and they will really understand the steps or strategies easily. In brief, the inspiring contents of this book and the communicative language which is used are the two interesting reasons why everyone, especially all teachers around the world should read this book.
